Events

Sales events are an important aspect of ClayWorks Guild. They give members, regardless of skill level, the experience of presenting their work to the public, as well as participate in the planning and organizing of shows or sales.

Sales events are also viewed by ClayWorks Guild as opportunities to educate the public about the art and craft of ceramics. More experienced members have a chance to teach the public what goes into making functional pottery, sculptural art, installing architectural ceramic work or working with ceramics and mixed media. By teaching the public as much as we can about areas such as forming techniques, glaze safety or other aspects of pottery, we create educated buyers and stimulate more interest in our art.

ClayWorks Guild sponsors three sales events each year - a spring sale in May, a holiday sale in December, and the Duke Showcase which is held for Duke Employees at Duke Hospital. The Guild also participates in other community oriented events including Empty Bowls and the StackN Stoneware Project.
